1960 Premier Mahogany Duroplastic finish drum set.

This is the drum set we used when we did the show at The Cavern Club in Liverpool in 2001.

The same year, model, sizes and hardware as Ringo's first drum set.  4" X 14" Royal Ace snare, 8" X 12" mounted tom on a Rogers Swiv-o-matic mount, 16" X 16" floor tom and 14" X 20" bass drum.

Ringo's Premier drum set his heard on many of the Beatles early hits, such as:

Owning a vintage 'Ringo' premier drum set, $800-$18,000

Playing it in the Cavern...priceless!

Photographers note: The finish or wrap on the Premeire Drums is really quite eye catching and beautiful. I never felt that the black and white photos of the time really did any justice to them or really capture their sophisticated beauty.  A close examination of the wrap will reveal a beautiful swirl like design. If Ringo did in fact choose this finish,  you can see that it is easily a precursor to the Black Oyster swirl that he is most famous for in his next drum kit. I did my best to capture as much of their beauty as I could. I really wanted it to "pop".  - SG
